General Museum admission is free to the public every Tuesday from 4 pm to 9 pm, courtesy of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation.
A surcharge may apply for special exhibitions.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

From the San Antonio International Airport:
Take US 281 South towards downtown. Exit on Josephine Street, approximately five miles. Turn left on to Grayson and continue under the overpass. Turn right at the stoplight, on to Broadway. Continue to Jones Avenue and turn right. The Museum is on the right. Free parking is across the street on the left.

From Downtown:
From the Alamo, take Alamo Plaza north and turn left on Third Street. Turn right on to Broadway. Continue approximately .75 miles to Jones Avenue, turn left.  the Museum is on the right. Free parking is across the street on the left.

ACCESSIBILITY

The Museum is fully accessible to the mobility impaired. Wheelchairs may be requested from a security guard at the front desk at the time of your visit. Wheelchairs are available on a very limited first-come, first-served basis.

APPRAISALS

The San Antonio Museum of Art does not evaluate or appraise works of art. For an art appraisal, please contact the American Society of Appraisers. The staff of the San Antonio Museum of Art also cannot comment on any work of art not in the Museum's collection.

CAFE SAMA

Cafe SAMA is open from 10 am to 2 pm Tuesday through Saturday offering beverages and light snacks.

PHOTOGRAPHY POLICY

Still photography, without flash, for personal use is permitted in the permanent collection galleries only. The San Antonio Museum of Art can not authorize photography of works of art in special exhibitions or on special loan to the museum. The use of flash photography or tripods is prohibited at all times. If you are a member of the media wishing to photograph the interior of the Museum, please contact Leigh Baldwin. If you would like more information on the reproduction of a work of art for educational or publishing purposes, please contact the Registrar’s Office.

MUSEUM POLICIES 

Please leave lunches, coats, backpacks, pens, markers, etc. in your vehicle. If in doubt, ask at the admissions desk.  Please think twice about using your cell phone in the museum – it is a distraction to others. 

Dispose of gum, food, or beverages before entering the Museum.

Stay at least 12 inches away from the artworks, labels, display cases and gallery wall surfaces.  Please walk carefully so that you do not bump into precious artworks or other people.

Use lead pencils if you are sketching or taking notes in the galleries.  No pens, please. Do use your video or camera but NO FLASH, please. No photography permitted in the special exhibitions.

Allow time to stop by the museum store for souvenirs. A wide assortment of items are available – some under a dollar!
