San Antonio Museum or Art

Classes

Visitors are invited to make art a way of life by joining free classes held in the Museum's galleries.

Meditation in the Japanese Gallery
Practice 20-30 minutes of serene meditation in the Japanese art gallery on Saturday mornings. The practice of meditation involves appropriate posture, breathing and mind adjustment. Relaxation is the primary goal of meditation as practiced in this workshop. This program takes place in the Japanese gallery, which is closed to the public during the program from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. Cushions and stools will be provided.

Sketching in SAMA’s Galleries
Offered every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m., sketching classes are open to visitors 12 and up of all levels of experience. Visitors will enjoy an evening of casual instruction based on the paintings and sculptures found in SAMA’s collections and special exhibitions. Each drawing session offers participants the opportunity to improve their drawing skills while exploring new techniques presented by the instructor. Sketching in SAMA's Galleries is made possible by generous support from the M.E. Hart Foundation.
